John Hoobyar
John Hoobyar is a performance curator and producer based in New York. He has produced programs for the Museum of Modern Art (Sarah Michelson: nowhere, 2026), the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center (PRELUDE Festival, 2024), Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's River to River Festival (Lotto Royale, 2023), the international dance festival Tanz im August (Once Over Time, 2022), and BAM (Sun & Sea, 2021), where he is currently Senior Manager of Artistic Planning.
Outside of producing, John has written and edited for the Movement Research Performance Journal, the 2019 Tanzkongress, and Culturebot. As a dancer, he has performed in works by Sarah Michelson, Heather Kravas, Moriah Evans, Ryan McNamara, Tino Sehgal, and Will Rawls, among others.
